SAN ANTONIO (KTSA News) — A 34-year-old man is behind bars after he reportedly threatened to kill several people at a North Side bar.
The San Antonio Police Department tells KSAT-12 that they were called to the Ringer Pub in the 2800 block of Thousand Oaks Drive at around 1 a.m. New Year’s Eve.
Officers say Luis Mendez was causing a disturbance at the business and was escorted out of the building, then told to never return.
But he came back later in the day, saying he was looking for a cell phone he left behind.
He was also carrying a bouquet of flowers which he handed to an employee and said they were for the people about to get murdered. Police say he also told the employee to stay away from the following Tuesday.
The employee told Mendez to leave, then called police.
Mendez was taken into custody Saturday and charged with making a terroristic threat.
His bond has been set at $30,000.
