PLANO, Texas — Cinemark is celebrating its highest-grossing box office year since 2019, according to the movie company.
The Plano-based company said 2025 was the highest-grossing domestic box office year since pre-pandemic times, surpassing North American industry performance, the company said in a press release.
Cinemark said it also set additional record-breaking results in 2025 for: All-time high Memorial Day weekend, biggest PG-rated opening ever with A Minecraft Movie, second-largest horror opening ever with The Conjuring: Last Rights, second-highest-grossing Thanksgiving weekend ever, largest Christmas Day box office and highest-attended New Year’s Eve since 2019, and highest-grossing non-traditional content year in company history.
The company says its success is a result of focusing oc the customer experience and strategic pricing, according to the release.
According to Cinemark, the concentrated focus helped set additional domestic records in 2025 for all-time high box office results across XD, IMAX and ScreenX formats, highest-ever revenue generated by D-BOX motion seats, expanded rollout of laser projection, luxury recliners and sound systems.
The company also sustained industry leadership of Cinemark’s Movie Club membership program, achieving a new record of subscriptions. 95 percent of surveyed moviegoers also reported a high level of satisfaction during their visit, the release states.
“Our relentless focus on delivering exceptional entertainment experiences and value for our guests, supplemented by the significant impact of our sophisticated marketing, programming and pricing actions, continued to sustain our strong market share gains and produced numerous record-breaking box office results throughout the year,” said Sean Gamble, president and CEO of Cinemark Holdings, Inc. “We are thrilled to have achieved a new post-pandemic high with our 2025 box office performance and are enthusiastic about the abundance of opportunities we have to drive further growth as we move ahead.”
