According to a WalletHub study, Corpus Christi ranked 94th on the list.

Cities that make it easier to stay active — with affordable gyms, bike-friendly streets, and access to parks — give residents a clear advantage when it comes to maintaining healthy habits.

WalletHub states cities offer the best environment for an active lifestyle. The study compared the 100 largest U.S. cities across 35 key indicators.

Chip Lupo, WalletHub analyst, says “The top cities for an active lifestyle have populations that are highly interested in exercise, which helps people find workout partners and stay motivated.”

The analysis considered factors such as average monthly fitness-club fees, bike scores, and the share of physically inactive adults.

Staying fit isn’t just about motivation. It also depends on the built environment.

In some cities, limited sidewalks or a lack of neighborhood parks can make regular exercise harder to fit into daily life, while other cities are designed in ways that naturally encourage people to move more and stay healthier, according to Lupo.
