FedEx is laying off 89 employees at a location in far north Fort Worth, according to a state filing on Dec. 29.Â
In a Worker Adjustment and Retraining Notification, or WARN notice, filed with the Texas Workforce Commission, the Memphis-based business shipping and services company said the workers will be laid off beginning March 2 at its location at 2001 World Wide Drive. The notice says the layoff decision is related to Network 2.0, which is a FedEx reorganization initiative that began in 2022 to improve efficiency and profits.Â
According to the WARN letter, the impacted employees can request transfers to other FedEx locations, take severance or take leave while seeking other roles in the company.Â
In May 2025, FedEx laid off about 300 employees at another location in north Fort Worth. According to the WARN notice for that furlough, those changes were made when a customer moved its business to another third-party logistics provider, an outsourced partner that manages some or all of a company’s supply chain and distribution needs.Â
