At the beginning of the video, Fuentes, along with four other individuals, was seen having their hands on the hood of a police unit along the 9700 block of Dyer Street. One of the individuals was taking everything out of his pockets and an officer did a pat-down of the man.
In the next cut of the video, Fuentes appears to flee, but an officer grabs his shirt and two other officers appear to help apprehend him. The struggle then leads all four individuals to the ground, with another officer looking to assist.
The person filming the incident is heard in the background, reacting with “Oh!” and “Oh [redacted].”
As the camera is raised, there is a clearer view of the struggle between Fuentes and four law enforcement officers. Officers are seen attempting to pin down Fuentes, with one officer on top of Fuentes.
The video then shows the officers walking Fuentes, in handcuffs and without shoes, to a police unit when they appear to use force to have Fuentes close to the vehicle. A bang can be heard when Fuente’s head landed on the cruiser. A crowd can be heard reacting when Fuente’s head landed on the vehicle. One officer is seen throwing Fuente’s shoes towards him.
The video then shows the officers moving Fuentes’ cuffed hands up and his head down. Fuentes can be heard repeatedly saying, “I didn’t do nothing.” One of the officers holding Fuentes said, “Wonder why I grabbed you?” A bystander is heard saying, “We’re not the ones to [redacted] with.”
After the conversation between the officer and Fuentes, police then walked Fuentes to the front of the police unit, with another bystander saying, “Oh [redacted]. Look at his face.”
With his arms up, officers then begin to search Fuentes’ person in the video. One officer proceeds to examine a bag in Fuentes’ possession, while Fuentes is asking why the police are detaining him. The officer examining the bag told Fuentes, “‘Cause you jaywalked.” The two then verbally disagree, with Fuentes saying he didn’t jaywalk and the officer saying he did.
The video ends with the officer continuing to examine Fuentes’ bag and another officer getting into the police unit.
Police sent KTSM a press release after the video had gone viral.
