AUSTIN, Texas — An unidentified female pedestrian was killed in a hit-and-run collision early Monday morning on E Koenig Lane, according to Austin Police. The incident marks the city’s third fatal crash of 2026.
Austin Police Department officers responded to the scene at 2:02 a.m., where Austin-Travis County Emergency Medical Services attempted life-saving measures, but the pedestrian was pronounced dead on site. The vehicle involved fled the area, and the investigation is ongoing, stated the department. This incident is being investigated as Austin’s third fatal crash of the year, with no fatal crashes reported on the same date in 2025.
