New cocktail bar and restaurant Ritual is expected to open Jan. 22, 2026, in Old East Dallas.
Ritual comes from a group of North Texas bar operators who have worked at the Standard Pour, Black Swan Saloon, Hendy’s on Henderson, Colombian Country Club, Komodo Dallas and Green Light Social.
The lounge will replace Alice, an Asian fusion restaurant and bar that was open since 2018. Before that, this Old East Dallas address near Ross Avenue and Hall Street was a Peruvian restaurant called Joyce and Gigi’s Kitchen.
Alice closed in 2025, and operator Justin Kalhoff will remain at the space, joined by Chris Evans and Cole Howard as first-time bar owners.

Consultant Paul Ramon created the cocktail list, which includes a clear cosmopolitan, a Carajillo with Biscoff cookie-infused coffee liqueur, a vodka drink with matcha cold foam, and classics like a gin and tonic and a whiskey sour. Ramon is also a bartender at Mamani, Dallas’ newest 1-star Michelin restaurant.

The cocktail menu includes four non-alcoholic drinks, including a booze-free Old Fashioned and a margarita.
Drinks and vibes seem central to the Ritual experience, but bargoers can also dine. (The tagline is “small bites, late nights.”) Bites include beef tartare, fries and savory cheese eclairs. Diners can also order salads, a New York strip, a lobster roll and a truffle grilled cheese sandwich.
The name Ritual is a nod to self-care, and its owners say the space will continue to be “female-forward” in design, as Alice was.
“Reimagining the Alice space with our mentor, Justin, has been an incredible journey for our first ownership venture,” said Howard in a news release. “We look forward to offering Dallas a unique lounge experience where every corner has been designed with purpose.”
Ritual will be at 1623 N. Hall St., Dallas. It’s expected to open Jan. 22, 2026. Hours will be seven days a week, evenings only.
