The Greenhill School, founded in 1950, recently wrapped its 75th anniversary year, including a first-ever Nonprofit Fair. In keeping with the independent primary school’s commitment to prepare and inspire students to “lead authentic, purposeful lives,” the event welcomed nearly three dozen organizations to its north Dallas campus.
Hosted by the Upper School Service Board, the Greenhill Nonprofit Fair took place on December 9, 2025. The event emphasized and expanded upon the Service Learning aspect of the Greenhill School’s student experience by facilitating face-to-face connections with community-driven organizations from across the region.
Among the 35 nonprofits represented were recognizable Metroplex institutions, such as the Dallas Zoo, North Texas Food Bank, and the Dallas Public Library. Still others focused on children’s services, including Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Dallas, The Birthday Party Project, and Vogel Alcove. Additional organizations were dedicated to education, nature preservation, and animal rescue services, among many other areas of focus.
“The Nonprofit Fair was a great success, and it achieved its goal of raising students’ awareness of the many nonprofit organizations in the DFW area and the different ways they can participate in service,” says Jessica Chu, Director of Service Learning and Community Engagement. “Students shared that they felt inspired by the wide range of opportunities available, while nonprofits were excited to connect with potential new volunteers.”
Due to the positive results of this first-time effort, the Greenhill School hopes to host a second Nonprofit Fair in the future.
