LUBBOCK, Texas (KCBD) – A Lubbock man will spend more than a decade in prison for beating a pregnant woman with brass knuckles.
Henry Mena pleaded guilty to aggravated assault for the attack that happened back in May 2024. He admitted to punching Maria Pulido in the head while wearing brass knuckles.
Judge Douglas Freitag accepted his plea in the 140th District Court Friday morning. The grand jury originally indicted him on four counts, but his plea deal with prosecutors included only one charge.
He will serve 12 years in state prison as part of the agreement. He will be eligible for parole after serving half of his sentence.
