Glenn was born in Plano and while she was homeschooled for a majority of her early life, she spent her senior year of high school at Plano where she completed her K-12 education on a more traditional note.

She also spent much of her early life training in McKinney, Frisco and Euless.

3. Big wins

Glenn started her young career off with big wins in the national junior U.S. championships to put her on the map as a prospect, but she’s exploded with multiple championship victories over the past few years. She won gold at the 2024 Grand Prix of Figure Skating final in Grenoble, France; she won gold with Team USA twice in a row at the 2023 and 2025 ISU World Team Trophy competitions; and she starred with back-to-back gold medal victories at the U.S. Championships in Columbus (2024) and Wichita (2025).

4. Misses out on Beijing in heartbreaking fashion

After winning silver at the U.S. Championships as a 21-year-old in 2021, Glenn was considered a good bet to make the 2022 Olympic team and compete in Beijing. According to a report by Figure Skaters Online, Glenn was even participating in Olympic promotions and events.

But those plans went up in smoke at the 2022 Championships when Glenn finished 14th in the short program and then tested positive for COVID-19, resulting in her withdrawal from the remainder of the competition. She was instead named as an alternate to the U.S. Olympic team.

“It was very much implied [I was going to the Olympics],” Glenn told FSO. “All this outside pressure that I eventually started putting pressure on myself. … I felt like I was expected to make it, so that made it all the more devastating. It was hard,”

5. Redemption before Milano Cortina?

Glenn made the 2022 U.S. Championships seem like ages ago at the 2026 edition, the final major competition before the 2026 Winter Olympics in Italy.

With a brilliant performance in the free skate, Glenn edged out world champion Alysa Liu for her third straight U.S. Championship title and virtually guaranteed herself a spot on the Olympic roster, where she and Liu will likely be teammates.

“Just so grateful. That was terrifying,” Glenn said after winning the title in January. “And I had to skate after two incredible ladies brought down the house. I’m still just mind-blown.”

Amber Glenn’s IMMACULATE free skate earns her 150.50 to give her the Women’s National Title with a total score of 233.55! 👏
