ARLINGTON — It sounds like the Cowboys still don’t know what happened to starting cornerback Trevon Diggs.

Diggs was ruled out of Sunday’s game against the Commanders with a concussion, suffered at his home on Thursday night.

At the time of the announcement of Diggs’ health situation, coach Brian Schottenheimer said he was still gathering details.

After Sunday’s victory over the Commanders, Schottenheimer and team owner Jerry Jones still didn’t have any clear answers.

Schottenheimer said, “No, not yet,” when asked if he knew what happened to Diggs.

“Oh, he said what happened,” Jones said. “But again, and I’m not saying that didn’t happen, but a lot of times you’re not the best viewer of what happened to you. Somebody else may have had a better look than you did.”

Jones and Schottenheimer said they expect Diggs to be back with the team once he clears concussion protocol.

“Yeah, I’m a Trevon fan,” Schottenheimer said. “I’m excited to get him back and hopefully it won’t be too long.”

Jones said Diggs’ concussion doesn’t give him concern about his long-term future with the team.

“But let me say this,” Jones said. “Nothing about Diggs and his injury situation right now, or the cause of his injury situation, give me any concern about his future. Not one bit of him. And future being next week. So I think that’s where he is. That covers lot of ground there.”
