Hundreds turned out for the 23rd annual Central Texas SPCA Barktoberfest at Veterans Memorial Park in Cedar Park on Saturday, October 18th, 2025.
The event kicked off with a 5K run, followed by a 1-mile dog walk, and it was a doggone good time for pooches and their people!
The fundraiser included dozens of vendors with everything from jewelry to veterinary services, as well as a silent auction.
The canine costume contest is always a big hit.
CBS Austin Chief Meteorologist Chikage Windler is a past board member and dog mom to two terrier mixes, Skipper and Ewok, adopted from the shelter.
Earlier this year, the Central Texas SPCA broke ground on a new building expected to be completed in the fall of 2026. The larger facility will enable the shelter to better care for dozens of cats and dogs who live there until they find their forever families.
