Spurs at Celtics picks and predictionsPrediction

Spurs 110, Celtics 107

PASS.

San Antonio’s biggest advantage here will be on the glass as the Spurs are the second-best rebounding team in the NBA, averaging 46.6 boards per game, The Celtics don’t have a reliable center and grab 44.2 rebounds per game, good for bottom half in the NBA.

Look for Boston to struggle to find any success scoring the ball in the paint while also struggling to close out possessions on the other end, giving San Antonio a ton of extra looks.

I am passing here, however, as late line movement flipped the Spurs to the favorite, making the ATS play more attractive. That said, if you like the Spurs but worry the Celtics could keep it within a point, take the ML here.

BET SPURS -1.5 (-110).

The Spurs went from 1.5-point dogs to 1.5-point favorites early Saturday afternoon. With that, the ML on San Antonio became pricier than the ATS play. Because I think the Spurs can cover the 1.5-poiint spread, I like giving the point-plus.

BET UNDER 230.5 (-110).

The Under has hit in 7 of Boston’s last 10 and is 3-1 in its last 4 home games. For San Antonio, the Under is 7-3 in its last 10, including hitting in each of its last 4 outings. The Under has also hit in each of the last 4 matchups between these squads played in Boston and is 7-3 in the last 10 meetings overall.

San Antonio has the third-best defensive rating in the NBA (111.8) while the Celtics possess the second-best scoring defense in the league, allowing just 110.7 opponent ppg.
