Officials say diamond grinding is underway to smooth out the pavement surface along the route before the event.

ARLINGTON, Texas — There are only two months until the INDYCAR Grand Prix of Arlington begins, and construction is underway to prepare for the three-day event.

Officials with the event say road preparations are slowly wrapping up, and diamond grinding is underway on roads around Globe Life Field to smooth out the pavement surface along the routes for the races.

A number of preparations are being made for the event over the coming weeks. On Monday in Lot 4 of AT&T Stadium, a bridge suite structure will begin construction. On Feb. 2 in Lots B and C, barricades, fencing, grandstands and other items will be loaded in. And, on Feb. 12, construction will begin on the track at Randol Mill and Stadium Drive.

The 2.73-mile, 14-turn track layout will feature Arlington’s three sporting venues: the home of the Dallas Cowboys, AT&T Stadium, and the Texas Rangers’ current and former venues, Globe Life Field and Choctaw Stadium.

The event in Arlington will get IndyCar back into Texas after Texas Motor Speedway dropped off the schedule last year. IndyCar had raced at the Fort Worth oval every year since the series debut in the 1997 season through 2023. IndyCar and track operator Speedway Motorsports were unable to come to an agreement for 2024, the Associated Press reported.

The IndyCar Arlington Grand Prix will be held mere months before the 2026 FIFA World Cup comes to the area months later in June and July.

Both single-day and three-day ticket options will be available for purchase, with general admission tickets starting at $35 on Friday, $50 on Saturday, $90 on Sunday and a weekend three-day general admission ticket for $110 per person, officials said in the release. Sunday reserved seats start at $135.
