El Paso police served a warrant during a large operation, including SWAT officers and armored vehicles, late Sunday morning in a neighborhood in the far East Side.

Officers served the warrant at about 11:15 a.m. Sunday, Jan. 11, at a home in the area of Vere Leasure Drive off Nolan Richardson Drive, according to a police media message and video posted on social media.

No further information on the focus of the warrant or whether anyone had been arrested was disclosed.

Videos posted on social media showed police cars, armored vehicles and officers appearing to stage in the parking lot of Jane A Hambric School in the 3500 block of Nolan Richardson Drive.
