Texas football won’t need to find someone new to protect Arch Manning’s blind side.
Longhorns left tackle Trevor Goosby, who has been rated by ESPN analyst Mel Kiper as a top-five tackle prospect in this upcoming NFL draft class, announced Sunday that he will return to Texas for the 2026 season. Goosby has two years of eligibility left.
After making two spot starts as a redshirt freshman in 2024, the 6-foot-7, 312-pound Goosby replaced Kelvin Banks Jr. as Texas’ left tackle this past season and shined in his first fall as a full-time starter. He earned first-team all-SEC honors, allowing three sacks and receiving a grade of 84.2 from Pro Football Focus.
Goosby’s return will be a boost for a Texas offensive line undergoing a partial makeover this offseason. Right tackle Brandon Baker is expected back. So is center Connor Robertson, an eight-time starter this season who also announced on Sunday that he’ll use his fifth year of eligibility. But veteran guards DJ Campbell and Cole Hutson have exhausted their eligibility, and Texas recently recruited former Oregon State interior lineman Dylan Sikorski out of the transfer portal.
