CANYON, Texas (KFDA) – West Texas A&M Lady Buff senior Randi Harding surpassed 1,000 career points over the weekend in their game against Saint Mary’s, scoring 15 points in the win.
The senior guard came to WT last year from Butler Community College. Last season, she started all 31 games for the Lady Buffs, averaging just under 30 minutes and 10.7 points per game.
Strong season performance
She continues to shine on the court this season both individually and as a teammate, shooting 35 percent from the field, 25 percent from three and over 95 percent from the charity stripe while averaging two assists a game.
In the matchup against the Rattlers, Harding went seven-for-seven from the free throw line and hit two threes to propel her team to their 15th straight victory.
WT head women’s basketball coach Josh Prock said Harding’s drive to be a better teammate is why she has reached this milestone.
“Yeah, she’s been an ideal leader…an ideal point guard. She’s one of the most humble kids that you’ve ever been around, like doesn’t want the attention, doesn’t want a lot of stuff, and just loves to be in the background and let her teammates get all the glory, you know, and that just exemplifies who Randi is,” Prock said.
