(KBTX) – Texas A&M football made its 18th transfer portal addition this 2026 window with Houston Christian linebacker TJ Smith.
Smith played in 22 games the past two seasons for the Huskies. He had 39 tackles in his sophomore season with two for loss. The 6-foot-1, 235-pound linebacker added eight tackles in his true freshman year and a pass breakup.
The Los Angeles, California native is the second linebacker transfer, joining Tulsa’s Ray Coney to sign with the Aggies this offseason.
Linebacker was a position of need after veterans and starters Taurean York and Scooby Williams declared for the 2026 NFL Draft.
