EL PASO, Texas (KFOX14/CBS4) — Some schools that canceled classes in the El Paso and Ysleta school districts will resume classes after the unprecedented water main break that affected 100,000 people.

El Paso Independent School District

According to EPISD, the schools below will open under a “boil water notice” and will follow the regular class schedule:

EPISD said the schools will be providing bottled water and will close off water fountains.

The following schools will remain closed:

Canyon Hills MSNavarette MSClendenin ESPark ES

EPISD all schools that were under a boil water notice on Monday will remain open under the same conditions on Tuesday.

The district said it is in communication with El Paso Water and said that it will update families and staff if conditions change.

Also, EPISD said it will excuse absences from students who live in the impacted area and won’t be able to go to school due to the water issues.

Ysleta Independent School District

All seven Parkland-area schools in the Northeast will reopen.

This includes:

Parkland Pre-K CenterDesertaire Elementary SchoolDolphin Terrace Elementary SchoolNorth Star Elementary SchoolParkland Elementary SchoolParkland Middle SchoolParkland High School

Water fountains will be blocked off and unavailable for use, and sinks will be covered to prevent handwashing, district officials said.

Hand sanitizer will be made available at our Northeast campuses, where students and staff will also be provided with plenty of bottled water to stay hydrated throughout the day. Parkland-area schools will operate under the Boil Notice until lifted by El Paso Water.
