AUSTIN, Texas. — The No.2 Texas Volleyball team remains undefeated after taking the win against Oklahoma (25-23, 25-19, 24-26, 25-14). The Longhorns have won ten of their last 11 meetings against the Sooners. 

Texas recorded a season high 11 aces, led by senior Emma Halter’s four, tying her career high. Freshman Abby Vander Wal and junior Torrey Stafford combined for 32 kills for the Longhorns. Vander Wal recorded career high 15 kills, which marks her fourth-straight match with double-digit kills. Stafford notched 17 kills and four digs while hitting .417 in the win. 

Set One: The Longhorns finished the opening set of the match with a 4-0 run and took the first set for the 13th time in 15 matches. Texas notched four services aces in the set, to tie its season high in set one. Stafford led the team notching six kills while hitting .857 along with three digs. 

Set Two: Texas rallied a 5-0 scoring run to end set two while hitting .375. The Longhorns tallied 16 kills and 14 assists in the second set, led by Ella Swindle, who recorded 11 of her 41 assists, and Vander Wal, who notched six kills. Texas was also highlighted by Halter, who totaled five digs in the set.  

Set Three: The Longhorns dropped the third set after registering 14 kills and 14 assists, despite two match points. 

Set Four: Texas dominated the final set of the match with a 9-1 run to take the win against the Sooners. The Longhorns limited Oklahoma at a .043 hitting percentage while recording 13 kills to seal the win. 

Texas will start its three-game road trip in Oxford to face off against Ole Miss on Friday, Oct. 24 at 7 p.m. CT on SEC Network.
