This is a candidate announcement for a candidate in the upcoming March 2026 party primaries. This does not constitute an endorsement; submissions appear as resources permit.
Whitney Masterson-Moyes is running for newly created U.S. House of Representatives District 35, which includes Wilson County, in the March 2026 Democratic Party primary.
Like many of you, my family’s story is woven into the very fabric of Texas — stretching back to before the Revolution. That heritage taught me that freedom is sacred and must be defended. Growing up, I watched my father — a proud Texan and Vietnam veteran — stand up for what’s right, even when it wasn’t easy. From him, I learned to reject unchecked authority and to meet every challenge with courage. Today, that courage is needed more than ever.

I’m running because I believe every child deserves to inherit a Texas — and an America — that protects liberty, honors individual rights, and keeps government accountable to the people. District 35 deserves a representative who listens first and fights for real solutions — empowering working families, small businesses, teachers, veterans, and our youth.
Across our nation, checks and balances are dissolving. Power is consolidating, dissent is being silenced, and families are being crushed by rising costs. We are at a crossroads: one path leads to more division and dysfunction; the other demands courage, clarity, and community — the traits that have defined Texans for generations. As Sam Houston said, “Do right and risk the consequences.” That principle guides this campaign:
End the trade war and lower inflation.
Raise wages and protect workers’ rights.
Lower prescription costs and expand healthcare access.
Tackle the housing crisis through smart investment and reform.
Secure Social Security by ending the tax cap.
Strengthen our schools by getting students and teachers the resources they need.
End gerrymandering and restore trust in democracy.
This is our moment to stand up for what’s right — to rebuild a government that remembers who it serves. Let’s fight for our values, our freedoms, and our future.
