Commuters on Loop 410 have probably noticed a certain San Antonio house just off the highway while sitting in traffic. With those bright white walls and that distinctive blue roof, it’d be pretty hard to miss.

The house, situated on a hill near the Babcock Road exit on the city’s Northside, has been a familiar sight for San Antonians for decades, spinning urban legends about who really owns “Santorini in Texas,” as one commenter under a recent TikTok dubbed it. Posted by @shanegboa, the TikTok amassed more than 260,000 views and tons of theories from locals in a matter of days.

San Antonio filled the comments section with its best guesses about who owns the house and why it has that memorable blue roof that rises on a hilltop looking out over the highway. However, not all theories seem to hold much water, such as the idea that it was a doctor’s office, an IHOP restaurant, Mary Kate and Ashley Olsen’s beach house or the site where the Spurs used to play. Not to let y’all down, but it is just a single-family home with an interesting look.

The truth, as usual, is a little less fantastical. According to Zillow, the Crestridge Drive property was built in 2001, and while it’s not on the market, the Bexar County Appraisal District estimates its value at $559,900. The 3,142-square-foot home sits on about a third of an acre in the Oak Hills neighborhood and features three bedrooms, two bathrooms, a fireplace and a garage, per Zillow.

Here’s who we know doesn’t own this home: it doesn’t belong to comedian Gabriel “Fluffy Iglesias or actor Tommy Lee Jones, as some commenters suggested. In reality, it seems to belong to the family of a San Antonio lawyer based on publicly available records. Regardless, it’s safe to say that there’s no shortage of mysterious abodes in the San Antonio area that lend themselves to locals’ imaginations.Â
