The Dallas Morning News is inviting the community to Cornerstone Baptist Church in South Dallas next month to have a conversation about the future of Fair Park.

The Nov. 1 event will include a breakdown of forward-looking plans and visions for Fair Park, an area that for decades Dallas leaders and residents have aimed to restore and revitalize. Plans for a long-promised community park have been deemed slow-moving.

This event is part of a series of community listening sessions hosted by The News. Our journalists will be present during the roughly one-hour discussion. Afterward, attendees can share their thoughts during a Q&A session.

“We have been holding events in neighborhoods across the area this year to meet the community where they are. Fair Park has been at the top of our list for an event because of how important this community is,” said Amy Hollyfield, managing editor of The News. “In the past year, we have written so many news stories about Fair Park, so we feel it’s important to show up for residents and explain what’s happening.”
