For the second time this week, Frisco ISD placed several of its schools under a secure status after the district recieved “non-credible” emailed threats.
FRISCO, Texas — Frisco and Little Elm ISD schools were placed on “secure” status again Wednesday morning for the second time this week after more email threats, officials said.Â
The Frisco Police Department said in a social media post on Wednesday, Jan. 14, that the department is actively investigating emailed threats at multiple Frisco ISD campuses.Â
In a social media post, the Little Elm Police Department also confirmed it was responding to threats at two Frisco ISD schools, Robertson Elementary and Miller Elementary.
“At this time, the school remains in a secure hold status while officers and K-9 units conduct a thorough sweep of the exterior of the campus in accordance with established LEPD safety protocols,” the department said. “Once this process is complete and the campus is determined to be safe, the secure hold will be lifted.”Â
Earlier this week, on Jan. 12, similar emailed threats prompted the campuses to be placed under secure status, WFAA previously reported. The schools were later lifted from the secure status, but not before parents lined up to remove their kids from school, WFAA reported.Â
The threats are likely not credible, police said. The affected campuses, which police did not name, were placed under a secure status “out of an abundance of caution,” police said.Â
“The district notified us immediately, and our School Resource Officers and Detectives are working closely with school administrators to assess the situation and ensure the safety of students and staff,” the post reads. “We take all threats seriously and are committed to providing a safe environment for everyone.”
