Costco is officially moving dirt at Grandscape, marking a major milestone for one of The Colony’s most anticipated retail additions.

Plans call for a 155,000-square-foot warehouse and an adjacent Costco gas station at the corner of Spring Creek Parkway and Grandscape Boulevard. The project was approved by The Colony City Council on Sept. 16, 2025, and officially broke ground in December.

“We are very excited about Costco coming to Grandscape,” a spokesperson for Grandscape told Local Profile.

If all stays on schedule, the store is expected to open in fall 2026, with a spring or summer debut previously projected during the planning phase.

Costco’s Growing North Texas Footprint

The Grandscape location is part of a broader expansion push for Costco across North Texas, driven by rapid population growth and continued demand for large-format retail. In 2025 alone, three new Costco locations were announced in Collin County.

New stores in Prosper and Allen have already opened, while a Celina location is in the works as part of a large mixed-use development that will also include a fuel station. Permits for the Celina project show a projected construction start in June 2026, with completion estimated for late November 2026.

What It Means For Grandscape

Already home to major attractions, dining and entertainment venues, Grandscape continues to add high-profile tenants that draw visitors from across the region. The addition of Costco brings a major everyday retail anchor to the development, complementing its mix of experiential destinations and further solidifying Grandscape as a regional hub.

With construction now underway, the familiar sight of Costco’s massive footprint is quickly becoming a reality for shoppers in The Colony and beyond.
