One of the most valuable ranches in North Texas has sold, and its new owners will continue the property’s renowned equestrian operations.

Jason and Kisha Itkin of Montana’s Theorem Ranch purchased TR9 Ranches, more than 860 acres in Weatherford, said Bernard Uechtritz, owner of Icon Global.

Icon Global represented sellers Western media and entertainment company Teton Ridge LLC. The property was listed last summer for $45 million.

The sales price was not disclosed, but Uechtritz said the deal covered both contiguous ranches as well as some adjacent property. The deal closed Jan. 8.

The bucolic lands, home to cutting, reining and full-care breeding and foaling among its many operations, sit 18 miles northwest of Weatherford.

Icon Global marketed the property as one of the “premier equine training facilities in the country,” — a owner, investor and breeder’s “dream.”

The property features multiple homes, barns, pens, saltwater equine spas, a mare motel and insulated indoor arenas, according to the previous listing.

“We are committed to maximizing this ranch’s potential,” Kisha Itkin said in a statement. “We believe this ranch will be a key component of our plan to help grow Western performance sports. The elite facilities will provide unique opportunities for horses, trainers, riders, and fans. The possibilities are endless.”

The property regularly welcomes a who’s who of the equestrian world and the occasional celebrities. Horseman Adan Banuelos and model girlfriend Bella Hadid attended a 2024 event at the ranch.

Actor Mo Brings Plenty, who regularly stars in longtime friend Taylor Sheridan’s myriad of Western-themed epics, went for a ride at the ranch in 2023.

The Itkins live in Houston. In addition to the Montana ranch, the pair also owns Theorem Vineyards in Napa Valley, Calif.

Jason Itkin is a partner and co-founder of Houston law firm Arnold & Itkin LLP. Kisha Itkin began her career in the oil and gas industry. The pair are also major donors to University of Texas athletics.

In September, the couple donated $10 million in support of the new Silver Spurs Center, part of the state-of-the-art Texas football training facility currently under construction.
