LUBBOCK, Texas (KCBD) – This morning, the Community Foundation of West Texas celebrated surpassing $50 million in gifts since grants were first funded in 1983.
The foundation distributed checks to over 50 local nonprofits on Wednesday at the Lubbock Dream Center. The funds given to those organizations were raised during last year’s Giving Tuesday campaign.
“Reaching $50 million in community investment is a testament to the incredible generosity and vision of our donors,” Executive Director Stephen Warren said in a release. “This milestone represents more than four decades of connecting caring individuals with critical community needs.”
The check distribution recognized participating organizations who work in different areas like arts and culture, education and youth programs, and more.
