Chapel Bar, a new restaurant and club from Fort Worth chef Christian Lehrmann, will open in the lobby of a historic building on the downtown Weatherford square, Lehrmann said.
Lehrmann, chef at Tinie’s in Fort Worth, will serve small plates along with craft cocktails in the restaurant and bar, 117 College Ave. next to Zeno’s inside the 1883-vintage Cotten-Bratton Building.
The menu will include dishes such as biscuits with peach preserves, deviled eggs, pimiento cheese with country ham or beet hummus, along with standards such as brisket sliders, flatbreads or a (bologna-like) mortadella-and-mustard sandwich.
Chapel Bar will become the caterer for weddings in the Jazz Chapel, part of the former funeral home and furniture store facility inside the historic building on the southeast corner of the square.
The bar and adjacent Zeno’s restaurant maintain their Western decor.
Lehrmann becomes the second Fort Worth chef to officially open a restaurant on the Weatherford square.
In August, Teddy Wongs Dumplings and Wine and chef Patrick Ru announced a new location at 102 Houston Ave.
The former Fire Oak Grill, 114 Austin Ave., has been sold, but the identity of the new owner officially remains a secret.
