EL PASO, Texas (KTSM) — A 23-year-old man was extradited to El Paso after he was wanted in connection with a murder in Fabens last year, according to the El Paso County Sheriff’s Office.

The Sheriff’s Office says just before 2 a.m. on March 30, deputies were dispatched to the 100 block of Mezcla in Fabens in reference to a shots-fired/aggravated assault incident.

Upon arrival, deputies located Aaron Villa, 26, who was suffering from multiple gunshot wounds and later died as a result of his injuries at the hospital.

The Sheriff’s Office Major Crimes Unit was able to identify Angel Lozano, 23, as the suspect in the homicide, and on Aug. 11, he was taken into custody in Greeley, Colorado, by the U.S. Marshals Service.

On Tuesday, Jan. 13, the Sheriff’s Office Fugitive Apprehension Unit extradited Lozano from Colorado to El Paso County.

Lozano was booked into the El Paso County Downtown Detention Facility on an outstanding murder warrant issued by the El Paso Criminal Law Magistrate Court with a $100,000 bond.
