Dallas Love Field travelers who are enrolled in the Transportation Security Administration’s PreCheck program will soon be able to use dedicated touchless identification lanes at the airport’s security checkpoint.

The checkpoint technology has become more popular at major U.S. airports across the country as its rolled out. It is already available at DFW International Airport, the central hub of American Airlines.

Love Field is the headquarters of Southwest Airlines, which operates 18 of the airport’s 20 gates.

The touchless tech, which is also available at Bush Intercontinental Airport, will be rolled out at airports in San Antonio, Austin and Houston’s Hobby Airport.

Here’s the information you should know:

How TSA Touchless ID Works

When you arrive at the airport, participants can proceed to a dedicated Touchless ID lane, according to the TSA. Participants can pass through the initial checkpoint with a biometric scan of their face and no need to present a driver’s license or passport.

How to participate

You must fulfill three requirements to enroll in the program. First, you need to have a Known Traveler Number (KTN), which you are assigned when you enroll in the regular TSA PreCheck program. Second, you need to have a valid passport. Lastly, you must opt-in to touchless ID on your airline’s profile or at check-in.

Your passport information must also be uploaded to your airline profile.

What airlines participate in the program?

The airlines that participate in the program are American Airlines, Southwest Airlines, Delta Air Lines, Alaska Airlines and United Airlines. However, the airports where each airline participates vary.

When will the new technology be available at Love Field?

While the TSA did not specify an exact date when the new feature will be available at Love Field’s security checkpoint, the agency’s website says that it is coming to 65 airports by this spring.

A media representative for the TSA did not immediately respond to a request for a more specific date.

Do I still need to carry physical identification?

Yes, even if you’re enrolled in Touchless ID, you must carry a valid, REAL ID-compliant physical ID, just in case your identity can’t be verified. You must present the physical ID if asked by a TSA officer, the agency said.
