Lubbock foodies have a fresh reason to celebrate,  Costa Mar Mexican Seafood & Cheve has officially opened its doors at 3420 82nd Street. This vibrant new restaurant brings the bold, coastal flavors of Mexico to the Hub City, serving up everything from ceviche and shrimp tacos to aquachilies and more.

A Fresh Arrival on Lubbock’s Dining Scene

Costa Mar opened on Sunday, October 19th, next to the 82nd Street location of Ravi’s Liquor. The menu is full of Mexican seafood favorites, including ceviche (raw seafood marinated and “cooked” in citrus juices), aquachilies (raw seafood in citrus that’s served immediately), shrimp, fish, and octopus tacos, quesadillas, and more. Not feeling seafood? They have skirt steak and chicken dishes available as well.

There are plenty of familiar favorites too, like coconut shrimp, shrimp cocktails, and French fries served with melty cheese and steak. Yum!  And some hearty seafood soups for the upcoming colder weather.

After browsing the menu, I found several innovative and interesting dishes I want to try- full of flavors that go far beyond the typical Tex-Mex we see here in West Texas (although I do still love my Tex-Mex!).

Additionally, Costa Mar has some really exciting and different desserts, including strawberries and cream and chocoflan, and more.

With its fresh take on coastal Mexican cuisine and a laid-back atmosphere made for good food and great company, Costa Mar Mexican Seafood & Cheve is already making waves in Lubbock’s dining scene.
