Visitation: 6 – 8 p.m. Thursday, January 22, 2026, at Greenwood Funeral Home in Memorial Suite B, 3344 White Settlement Rd., Fort Worth, Texas 76107. Funeral Service: 12 p.m. January 23, 2026, in Greenwood’s Live Oak Chapel, 3100 White Settlement Rd., Fort Worth, Texas 76107. Interment: Greenwood Memorial Park. DeWayne was born on February 8, 1961, in Fort Worth, Texas, and dedicated his life to service-both to his family and to his community. He was a devoted father, a lifelong public servant, and a man who found joy in both hard work and simple pleasures. He proudly served as a police officer for 33 years, a career defined by commitment, courage, and a deep sense of responsibility to protect others. Above all else, DeWayne loved his family. He is survived by his three children, Malachi Goings, Jordan Jardine, and Maddie Berrey, who were the center of his world and the source of his greatest pride; as well as his two grandchildren, Scottie Berrey and Harlee Goings, who brought him great joy. DeWayne was a proud member of the Choctaw Nation. Outside of work, DeWayne had a deep love for the outdoors. He enjoyed hunting with friends, time spent boating, and being surrounded by nature. He also had a special love for his dogs and was well known for his quick wit and distinctive sense of humor-often expressed through jokes that caught people off guard and left a lasting impression. DeWayne held a quiet faith that guided his values and the way he treated others throughout his life and career. Those who knew him will remember his strength, dedication, humor, and the way he consistently showed up for the people he cared about. His legacy lives on through his children and grandchildren, the many lives he touched throughout his career, and the stories-both heartfelt and humorous-that will continue to be shared in his goings.
