Investigators say during a church conference trip in Nebraska, Mishler confessed to a counselor that he had an addiction to child sexual abuse material and being sexually aroused by his adoptive daughters. Following his confession, a church member contacted Child Protective Services, who reported the information to its Texas agency counterpart.

Authorities investigated Mishler’s home and work, where more than 500 images and videos of child sex abuse material were discovered on both his personal and work computers.

Mishler will also be required to register as a sex offender, not reside or have contact with minors, and pay a $5,000 fine in addition to his sentence.
