DALLAS — Drivers traveling through Richardson, Plano, and Carrollton should plan ahead for a series of overnight and weekend closures along the President George Bush Turnpike, as the North Texas Tollway Authority completes scheduled maintenance and sign installation.Â
The closures affect major connector ramps to US 75 and I-35E and may require extra time or alternate routes during late-night and early-morning travel.
Overnight closures in Richardson and Plano

Thursday night into early Friday, Jan. 15–16, from 10 p.m. to 3 a.m.
Overnight work will temporarily close the eastbound President George Bush Turnpike connector ramps to northbound and southbound US 75, along with the eastbound Alma Road exit ramp. This work is located in Richardson and Plano and is needed for sign installation.
During the closure, traffic will be detoured onto nearby surface streets. Drivers headed to US 75 in either direction should expect to follow posted detour routes using Custer Parkway, Renner Road, Plano Parkway, and the US 75 frontage roads before re-entering the highway.
Weekend closure in Carrollton

Beginning Friday night, Jan. 16 at 9 p.m. through early Sunday morning, Jan. 18 at 5 a.m.
A separate continuous closure will impact drivers traveling westbound on the President George Bush Turnpike to southbound I-35E. This connector ramp is located in Carrollton and will be closed for routine maintenance.Â
Drivers will be detoured off the turnpike at Old Denton Road/Dickerson Parkway, then routed along the southbound I-35E frontage road, following posted signage to re-enter the highway.
