Come Oct. 29, Don Artemio will transform into a temple of flavors, where Fort Worth diners can celebrate Día de los Muertos with world-renowned Chef Ricardo Muñoz Zurita — hailed by TIME Magazine as the “Prophet and Preserver of Mexican Cuisine.” Guests will savor an exclusive menu crafted by Chefs Zurita and Rodrigo Cárdenas, paired with celebrated wines from Casa Magoni, offering a rare chance to experience Mexico’s culinary heritage elevated to world-class artistry.
Chef Zurita’s reputation precedes him. Internationally regarded as one of the most influential figures in contemporary Mexican cuisine, he authored the “Diccionario Enciclopédico de Gastronomía Mexicana,” documenting over 4,000 culinary terms and helping Mexican cuisine earn UNESCO World Heritage recognition. His acclaimed restaurants — Azul Condesa, Azul Histórico, Azulísimo, and Litoral — showcase his dedication to preserving traditional flavors while elevating them for modern diners.
Known as “The Anthropologist of Mexican Gastronomy” and affectionately called “Su Majestad” (“His Majesty”), Zurita has taught at culinary institutes across the Americas and Europe and appeared on Netflix’s “Chef’s Table: BBQ” for his mastery of traditional Yucatecan smoke cooking.
At Don Artemio, guests will savor Casa Magoni wines from Mexico’s Guadalupe Valley — celebrated for marrying Mexican heritage with world-class winemaking. Each pairing is designed to elevate every bite of the exclusive menu, turning the evening into a true feast for the senses. Adding to the experience is wine pioneer Camillo Magoni, a legend who has spent over 50 years shaping the Guadalupe Valley and its neighboring regions. From crafting award-winning wines to serving 17 years as Italy’s honorary Consul in Baja California, Magoni’s influence spans continents. In 2007, he received Italy’s highest civilian honor, the “La Stella al Merito del Lavoro” at the rank of comendatore, cementing his legacy as one of the most respected figures in modern winemaking.
Tickets are $185 per person, plus tax and gratuity, and reservations can be made at Don Artemio’s website. Seats are limited, making it an intimate and rare opportunity to dine with a living legend.
