DPS says one driver died at the scene while another was airlifted to a Corpus Christi hospital following a late-night crash.

ROBSTOWN, Texas — One person is dead and three children are critically injured following a two-vehicle crash late Monday night at the intersection of County Road 77 and County Road 36 near Robstown, according to the Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS).

DPS Sgt. Mallory said troopers were notified of the crash at 9:44 p.m. The collision involved a Ford Ranger and a Buick Rendezvous.

The driver of the Buick Rendezvous was pronounced dead at the scene. Three children who were passengers in the Rendezvous were transported to a hospital in critical condition.

HALO Flight airlifted the driver of the Ford Ranger to Spohn Shoreline Hospital for treatment. That driver’s condition has not been released.

DPS said the investigation remains ongoing. 

Sgt. Mallory said they remain at the scene as they continue to investigate.

No further information, including the cause of the crash, has been released at this time.
