TCU Runs Past Baylor on Saturday in Fort Worth

  • October 20, 2025

FORT WORTH, Texas (BAYLOR ATHLETICS) – TCU’s 21-point second quarter and plus-three turnover margin lifted the Horned Frogs past Baylor football 42-36, on Saturday afternoon at Amon G. Carter Stadium.

Baylor (4-3, 2-2 Big 12 Conference) saw an early lead erased by a 21-point second quarter from the Horned Frogs, who took over following a BU fumble on its own 17-yard line to fuel the second stanza and run past the Bears. A TD drive to open the third quarter pushed the lead to 18.

As the teams battled over two hours of lightning delays over the course of three stoppages, the Bears managed to fight back to get within a possession in the closing seconds.

The Bears returned a fumble for a TD with 3:08 left in the fourth, and converted a two-point conversion, to cut the lead to 42-29, and after a 35-yard TD strike from Sawyer Robertson to Kole Wilson, the Bears narrowed the margin in 42-36.

Jacob Redding fell on an onside kick to give the Bears a final chance at it, owning the ball at the TCU 48-yard line. A holding call pushed the Bears back to their own 42-yard line and Robertson was picked off on the ensuing play, allowing TCU to kneel down for the win.

The loss snapped Baylor’s five-game road winning streak, dating back to 2024. It was BU’s fourth loss in the last 14 games and its second loss in the last 10 conference games. The game marked the fourth time in the last five meetings that the result came down to a one-score margin.

The Bears won last year in Waco on a walk-off field goal, a feat accomplished by TCU in 2022. Six times in the last eight meetings the rivalry game, played for the 121st time on Saturday, came down to a single-score margin.
