Tarrant County drivers should prepare for several nights of lane closures along two major corridors as construction work continues.
TARRANT COUNTY, Texas — Drivers traveling through western Tarrant County should prepare for several nights of lane closures along two major corridors as construction work continues along I-20 and I-30.
TxDOT crews will be working overnight beginning Monday, Jan. 19, through Friday morning, Jan. 23, weather permitting. The closures will be in place nightly from 7 p.m. until 6 a.m., a window chosen to limit impacts during peak daytime travel.
Along I-20, both eastbound and westbound lanes will see periodic closures between FM 1187 and the I-20/I-30 split. At the same time, drivers on I-30 should expect lane closures in both directions from the I-20/I-30 split east to Linkcrest Drive.
Crews will be closing various lanes as construction activities progress, and the number and location of open lanes may change from night to night. That variability can create slowdowns, especially for drivers who travel through the area regularly and may be used to a specific traffic pattern.
While the work is happening overnight, drivers should still plan for extra travel time, particularly during the late evening and early morning hours. Alternate routes are strongly encouraged, and motorists are urged to stay alert for shifting lanes, signage changes, and construction crews working close to traffic.
As always, the schedule is weather-dependent, and any rain or unsafe conditions could delay or adjust the work. Drivers are encouraged to check traffic conditions before heading out and remain cautious as construction continues.
