The Fort Worth Stock Show and Rodeo (FWSSR) returns to Cowtown! NBC 5 and Telemundo 39 want you to come out in your best cowboy getup and enjoy the pageantry of the All-Western Parade. The parade kicks off this western tradition, now in its 129th edition, on January 17 at 11:00 a.m. in downtown Fort Worth.
The All-Western Parade will take over Cowtown with a crowd of more than 100,000 spectators. Nearly 150 entries will descend into the heart of Fort Worth, all for your enjoyment. Among the entries are more than 70 riding clubs, a dozen marching bands from various local high schools, the TCU Horned Frog Marching Band, and the Hardin-Simmons University Cowboy Band, among others. More than 3,000 horses and 30 wagons and floats will add to the spectacle, making up a part of the nearly 4,000 parade participants. On the sidelines, face painters and balloon artists will keep the little ones entertained, located near the Sundance Square Plaza.
The parade route will begin at Main St. and Weatherford St., south of the Tarrant County Courthouse, and continue southbound and loop back northbound on Houston St. Street closures to secure to two-mile route begin at 9:00 a.m. FWSSR encourage spectators to plan ahead and arrive early to secure optimal viewing seats with locations at Sundance Square and the Convention Center.
But the fun doesn’t end with the parade! Through February 7, FWSSR continues with 23 days of exhilarating fun. Livestock, horse shows, the petting zoo, pony rides, live music, carnival, shopping, and food will make sure to put a smile on more of the 1.2 million visitors that FWSSR attracts annually.
An evening rodeo will cap off your visit to the day’s events. The rodeo will be a thrill, with different shows scheduled each night such as the “Best of the West”, Bull’s Night Out, Cowboys of Color and the Best of Mexico Celebration.
