EL PASO, Texas (KFOX14/CBS4) — Nuevo Uno Cinco, a high-end craft cocktail lounge in downtown El Paso, Texas, offers more than just drinks; it provides a curated experience inspired by Winston Churchill’s vision of a diverse and culturally rich community.

Founded by Luciano Aguayo III, a local tech entrepreneur, the lounge celebrates El Paso’s unique character through its architecture and decor, blending historic textures with modern design.

Collaborating with Jason Asher, an international mixologist, Aguayo crafted cocktails that tell culinary narratives inspired by the Southwest’s flavors and ingredients.

“El Paso has so many places to go. We have beautiful hotel lobbies, but this is a dedicated space where it’s an elegant environment to continue those conversations and get to know people,” said Aguayo.

The lounge also offers culinary bites made from fresh, locally sourced ingredients, enhancing the overall experience.

915, that’s El Paso. This whole concept is based on El Paso. Our drink menu, every drink has a concept and a history of El Paso,” said Aguayo. “The idea was to bring people here, entertain your guests and show them a little bit of El Paso and our culture.

Nuevo Uno Cinco serves as a social hub, hosting events, art exhibitions, and live music, appealing to both locals and visitors.

The cocktails reflect El Paso’s rich culinary history, incorporating flavors from native peoples and influences from Spanish and Mexican traditions.

Each drink is a tribute to the city’s soul, offering a sensory map of El Paso’s cultural tapestry.

The cocktail program, curated by award-winning mixologist Jason Asher, is a sensory journey inspired by El Paso’s desert landscape, vibrant culture and sun-drenched climate.

“The goal is for business people, tourists can come and experience the taste and history of El Paso and the great culture we have,” said Aguayo.

“This place is very different andnot your typical lounge. Our cocktails are meticulously developed, and we manipulate flavors to enhance them,” said Aguayo.

Each drink is a tribute to the people, places, and magic that built the city of El Paso.

Nuevo Uno Cinco is now officially open to the public, and it’s located at 218 W Franklin Avenue in downtown El Paso across Southwest University Park.

Nueve Uno Cinco will be open 4 pm – 12 am Wednesday – Sunday.
