HALTOM CITY – Alice Bryldene Cantrell Wadley Anderson, age 85, went home to be with the Lord on January 10, 2026, and was joyfully reunited with the loved ones who went before her. A truly wonderful lady, Alice lived a life of service, faith, and quiet strength. She was an inspiration to many-a hard worker and a role model whose life reflected genuine love for others. Throughout her 85 years, Alice was devoted to her family, friends, and church family. She showed everyone what it meant to care deeply for those around her, always placing others before herself and lifting people up rather than seeking recognition. She worried for everyone she loved and always wanted the very best for them and their families. Interment: 11:30 a.m. Monday, January 19, 2026 at Greenwood Memorial Park at 3100 White Settlement Road, Fort Worth, Texas 76017 Her Journey Alice was born on April 11, 1940, in Pioneer, Texas. From an early age, she became a caretaker and learned responsibility far sooner than most, growing up under challenging conditions. Those hardships never hardened her heart; instead, they shaped her compassion and unwavering dedication to family and friends. She attended school in Odessa, Texas. In 1956, Alice married Elmer Lee Wadley. They shared 27 years of marriage before his passing in 1983. In 1970, the family moved from Odessa to Fort Worth, Texas. In 1987, she married James Lewis Anderson, with whom she shared 31 years of marriage until his passing on March 11, 2018. Alice spent more than 54 years living in Haltom City, Texas, where she was a faithful and active member of Birdville Church of Christ until her passing. Family Alice is survived by her son, Paul Wadley; daughter-in-law, Lisa Wadley; grandson, Beau Wadley; stepdaughter, Catherine Gullo; son-in-law, Richard Gullo; and grandson, Zachery Gullo. She was preceded in death by her husbands, Elmer Lee Wadley and James Lewis Anderson; her mother, Mary Viola Cantrell Hudson; her stepfather, Bennie Hudson; and her brother, Vergil Cantrell. Her Life and Passions Alice worked for Recording Publishing Company until her retirement. Retirement never slowed her down. She earned certification as a substitute teacher and served in that role for several years, continuing her lifelong passion for learning and service. She loved animals, especially dogs and cats, and cherished time spent outdoors. Whether camping at Benbrook Lake, swimming at Lake Worth, or simply enjoying the water, Alice felt at peace in nature. She was active in school activities, Cub Scouts, yard work, tending her koi pond, sail boating, participating in a miniature train club, and serving faithfully at church. She also enjoyed visiting others and spending quality time with family. Even in her later years, Alice embraced learning new things, including studying Spanish and keeping up with new technology.
