It wouldn’t be a Texas A&M SEC game without some late drama, but this time the Aggies controlled the final minute and walked out of Austin with a 74–70 win and the Lone Star Showdown trophy.

After a cold first half, the Aggies flipped the script with a night‑and‑day turnaround—jumping from 50% shooting to 60% overall and improving from 40% to 60% in the second half. Free‑throw shooting remains a work in progress, but the consistency after halftime was undeniable. Every time Texas threatened to make a run, A&M had an answer.

Rashaun Agee once again served as the engine that kept the Aggies moving. His physicality, rebounding presence, and relentless motor powered him to his eighth double‑double of the season with 17 points and 11 boards. And as has become the theme of this team, someone always steps up as the X‑factor. Tonight, that was Rylan Griffen, who delivered a massive second half—scoring all 17 of his points after the break and hitting clutch shots when A&M needed them most.

In his first season, head coach Bucky McMillan is making noise across the SEC. At 4–1 in league play and now responsible for Texas A&M’s first win in Austin in more than 20 years, he has the Aggies trending in a direction few expected this quickly. With each passing game, the NCAA Tournament looks less like a dream and more like a legitimate possibility.
