EL PASO, Texas (KTSM) — Here is a list of schedule changes and closures for Martin Luther King Jr. Day, which is Monday.

City of El Paso

In observance of the Martin Luther King Jr. Day holiday, the City of El Paso administrative offices will be closed on Monday, Jan. 19.

City Hall and all administrative offices will resume regular business hours on Tuesday, Jan. 20.

The City will host the regular City Council meeting at 9 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 20. There will be no work session due to the holiday.

Residential trash and recycling collection will not be affected by the holiday because trash is not collected on Mondays.

The following is the City’s schedule of services and operations for Monday, Jan. 19:

El Paso County

In observance of the Martin Luther King Jr. holiday, all El Paso County Administrative Offices will be closed Monday, Jan. 19. Regular business hours will resume Tuesday, Jan. 20.

El Paso County Commissioners Court will not meet on Monday and will resume County business during its next regular session on Monday, Jan. 26 beginning at 9:30 a.m.

El Paso Community College

El Paso Community College (EPCC) will not offer services — except for online registration for current students at Self Service Banner — on Monday, Jan. 19 in observance of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Day.

This holiday coincides with the beginning of the spring 2025 semester. The first day of classes is Tuesday, Jan. 20.

El Paso ISD

There will be no school for students and the district will be closed in observance of Martin Luther King Jr. Day.

Socorro ISD

The Socorro Independent School District will be closed on Monday, Jan. 19 in observance of Martin Luther King Jr. Day. Classes will resume and schools and offices will re-open on Tuesday, Jan. 20. In case of an emergency, please contact SISD Police Services Dispatch at (915) 937-4357.

Doña Ana County

All Doña Ana County administrative offices will be closed Monday, Jan. 19 for the Martin Luther King, Jr. Day holiday.

Emergency services and law enforcement in the field will not be affected. However the administrative offices of the Doña Ana County Sheriff’s Office, Detention Center and Fire Rescue will also be closed.

County offices will reopen and resume regular business hours at 8 a.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 20.

City of Las Cruces

In observance of the Martin Luther King Jr. Holiday, most City of Las Cruces offices will be closed Monday, Jan. 19. However, all emergency services, including police and fire will operate as usual.

Las Cruces Public Libraries, including Thomas Branigan Memorial Library and the branch libraries at Sage Café and Munson Center

All Senior Programs facilities and services

South Central Solid Waste Authority administrative offices

Roadrunner Transit administrative offices

Operating, or open, with hours, includes:

The Las Cruces Natatorium, 1401 E. Hadley Ave., will be open from 7:30 a.m. to noon Monday

Las Cruces Regional Aquatic Center, 1401 E. Hadley Ave., will be open from 7:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday

Meerscheidt Recreation Center, 1600 E. Hadley Ave., will be open from 1 – 5 p.m. Monday

Solid waste collection will occur Monday for residential and commercial customers who are scheduled for service Monday

The Foothills Landfill, 555 S. Sonoma Ranch Boulevard, will be open with normal business hours Monday

Roadrunner Transit and Vamonos will operate with regular service levels from 6:30 a.m. to 10:30 p.m. Monday

Curbside recycling service will be provided to those who are scheduled to have their recycling collected Monday

The South Central Solid Waste Transfer Station, 2865 W. Amador Ave., the Corralitos Landfill, and Doña Ana County collection locations will operate as usual

Doña Ana Community College

Doña Ana Community College (DACC) campuses and centers will be closed on Monday, Jan. 19 in observance of the Martin Luther King Jr. holiday. Campuses and centers will reopen on Tuesday, Jan. 20.
