The Texas Tech athletic department announced prior to the program’s basketball game vs. BYU on Saturday that ESPN’s College GameDay is coming back to Lubbock.

The popular pregame show will shoot from the home court of the Red Raiders next Saturday, Jan. 24, leading into No. 15 Texas Tech’s anticipated matchup with Big 12 foe, No. 7 Houston. The Red Raiders are coming off a big win over No. 11 BYU on Saturday.

Hosted by Rece Davis and featuring Jay Bilas, Jay Williams, Andraya Carter, and Seth Greenberg, the show airs live from 10-11 a.m. on Saturday mornings and is making its first on-campus production of the basketball season. Texas Tech and Houston are set to play at 5:30 p.m. in their second matchup against each other this season. The Cougars came out on top in the first matchup, 69-65.

Admission is free and fans do not need a game ticket to the basketball game to attend the 60-minute GameDay show.

It’s the second time in a little over two months that ESPN’s GameDay is visiting Lubbock. It worked out pretty well for the Red Raiders the first time: Tech laid a 34-7 smackdown on No. 12 BYU when Pat McAfee and the football version of the pregame show aired from Lubbock.

The 6-4, 310-pound guard will have two years of eligibility with the Red Raiders.
