LUFKIN — An accident in Lufkin on College Drive this morning claimed the life of Demarcus Hadnot, 26, of Pollok. The collision occurred at 10:15 a.m. near the entrance to the Texas Bible College.
According to police, Hadnot was driving west when his Kia was struck by a Mercedes driven by George Fidone, 65, of Lufkin.
Hadnot’s passenger, Paige Turner, 24, was critically injured and has been airlifted to a hospital in Tyler for treatment. Fidone sustained non-life-threatening injuries. A dog traveling in the Kia also died at the scene.
Authorities are withholding further details until family members have been notified.
