COLLEGE STATION, Texas – Air Force Women’s Tennis capped off a two-stop, Power Four spring debut in Texas falling 7-0 to No. 2 Texas A&M on Sunday afternoon in College Station, Texas.
 
The Falcons (0-2) dropped the opening doubles points on courts two and one in order. Sophomore Sofia Mavor and freshman Yule Kang fell to TAMU’s #76 Violeta Martinez/Anna Perelman, 6-2. Aggie lead-off pair Mia Kupres/Lucciana Perez secured the 1-0 A&M lead with a 6-3 victory over senior Abby Cotuna and freshman Maya Michalski.
 

In singles, A&M scored wins across the board. Air Force fell on lines two (Perez vs. Mavor, 6-1, 6-0), three (Reed vs. Michalski, 6-0, 6-1), one (No. 34 Kupres vs. Cotuna, 6-2, 6-1), five (Martinez vs. Kang, 6-3, 6-2), six (Perelman vs. Selvan, 6-1, 6-3) and four (#83 Daria Smetannikov vs. Kojonroj, 6-0, 6-5) in order. On the final court Kojonroj battled to a 5-all tie in her second set with ranked Smetannikov before falling in her final two games.
