EL PASO, Texas — A man who was detained by Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agents in Minneapolis has died after being transferred to a DHS facility in Texas.Â
Victor Manuel Diaz, a 36-year-old man from Nicaragua, was arrested by ICE agents on Jan 6 for an immigration violation, according to a release from ICE.
According to ICE, its “contract security” found Diaz unresponsive in his room and he was pronounced dead on Jan 14.Â
Diaz’s death remains under investigation but ICE believes he died of a “presumed suicide.”Â
