DUBAI, UAE – Former Texas A&M men’s golf standout Nacho Elvira topped a star-studded field to claim victory at the Dubai Invitational Sunday.

Elvira, the only golfer to fire under 70 all four rounds, finished at 10-under 274 on the par 71, 7,059-yard Dubai Creek Resort course. He held a two-stroke lead after three runs and finished one stroke ahead of Daniel Hillier. The field included Rory McIlroy and Tommy Fleetwood, ranked No. 2 and No. 3 in the world, respectively.

With the win, Elvira moved into fourth place in the DP World Tour points list after six events this season.

The victory marked the third career win for Elvira on the DP World Tour. He triumphed first at the 2021 Cazoo Open in Wales and followed up with a victory at the 2024 Soudal Open in Belgium. Elvira owns 12 career top 3 finishes.

Elvira was a two-time All-America selection at Texas A&M. During his senior campaign, he earned All-Big 12 and all-region on the back of eight top 20 finishes and two top 5 showings en route to a 72.29 stroke average. He capped off his Aggie career with an appearance in the prestigious Palmer Cup.
