Baylor has finally landed its quarterback for the 2026 season.

Former Florida quarterback DJ Lagway has signed with Baylor, the program announced Sunday. While Lagway reportedly committed to Baylor earlier this month, he continued to take visits to other schools.

Lagway was a five-star recruit coming out of Willis High School in the class of 2024. He also began recruiting for the Bears after a verbal commitment, according to a report from 247Sports’ Chris Hummer.

The quarterback completed 63% of his passes last season for 2,264 yards with 16 touchdowns and 14 interceptions. He also ran for 136 yards and a score. He missed most of the offseason program while recovering from core-muscle surgery, a sore throwing arm and a strained calf. He also missed time in 2024 with a hamstring injury.

Lagway’s father, Derek, played football at Baylor from 1997-2001.
