EL PASO, Tx., October 20, 2025: Early voting for the November 4 uniform and special election got underway this morning. The early voting period runs through October 31, and Election Day is November 4. Early voting locations can be found by visiting the El Paso County Elections Department using this link. Be sure to check the website before heading out as times vary by location. Generally, most voting locations begin around 8:00am and run through 7:00pm at some locations.

El Paso voters will be voting for 17 Texas constitutional amendments. For an explanation of the Texas constitutional amendments go to our previous article detailing what each proposition is about.

In addition to the Texas constitutional amendments, voters in Clint, Horizon, Socorro, Tornillo and Vinton will also be casting ballots.

In Clint, voters are voting for a District at Large alderman. Four candidates are running for the spot. They are Albert Duran, Addam Hernandez, Rose Hernandez and Daniel “Dan” Vallejo.

There are two measures for voters who live in Horizon. One is for the voters who live in the Ravenna Defined Area utility district asking them to vote to reduce property taxes. The second Horizon measure is for those who live in the Hunt Properties Defined Area. The four propositions ask voters to vote on creating the Horizon Defined Area. The three other measures ask voters for permission to issue $49 million in bonds for water and sanitation to be paid through property taxes, with the last measure setting the tax rate.

Voters who live in Socorro will be voting on two ballots. The first ballot is for Socorro Independent School District setting their tax rate. The second ballot is to elect three alderman, in District 1, 2 and 3. Running for the District 1 seat are Cesar Navarez and Rene Rodriguez. Alejandro Garcia and Gina Cordero are each running unopposed for Districts 2 and 3 respectively.

Voters in the Tornillo Independent School District are voting to increase their tax rate.

The voters in the Village of Vinton will be voting for mayor and aldermen for Districts 1 and 2. Juvencia Rios Ontiveros, Samuel “Sam” Monreal and Rachel Quintana are running to be Vinton’s next mayor. In District 1, Dolores Diaz and David Duran are running, and District 2 Perry K. Duby is running against Leticia Gonzalez.

Election Day is November 4.
